how come i get off of work for memorial day but not veteran's day? they both have the same premise. i guess the owner of the company i work for thinks that i already get 2 days off in november for thanksgiving and the day after. maybe he didn't want to add another. 3 days is too much. that's a whole 10% of the month.
aside from sick days and vacation days, i get 7 days off for holidays. as i moved from high school to college to the work force, i've been getting less and less holidays that count for a day off. i guess that's the consequence of growing up. in high school, i used to get election day AND the day before off. they were parent-teacher conference days. when i got to college, the campus administration expected me to attend class and vote at the same time. that's why god invented absentee ballots. now that i'm in the work force, i don't even get the jewish holidays off. that sucks for all of god's chosen people. i guess they'd have to sacrifice some of their vacation days. damn.
i start my new job tomorrow. yippie. hopefully after saving some money for a few months, i can afford to stop living in people's basements and get a room that's actually above sea level.
