at this stage, i'm not even going to try to make a rant about the virginia tech thing. i only hope that everyone analyzing it keeps one thing in mind: only put blame where it belongs. i don't give a shit what he was reading, listenging to, watching on tv, or where he was brought up. just blame him. props to chris rock for being able to make some humor out of columbine, but let's face it: i'm not that fucking funny.
imus. personally, i've never listened to him. all i know is that people have done/said much worse and haven't been fired for it. i don't think he should've been fired. we've all said shit that we've regretted. he just said it when a bunch of people were listening. at most, he should've gotten the suspension so he'd learn his lesson. he'll be back, though. when he is...fuck, i still won't listen to him.
i'm watching american idol now, and wow, i'm not gonna talk about sanjaya. there's this commercial with a computer generated NYC taxi driver, foreign with a bad accent and everything. what the fuck? i'm not surprised 'cause it's fox. i think the want to ripoff borat for all they can. i don't care if they have that guy sucking off bill o'reilly, i'm not gonna buy into it.
i've referenced lewis black in the past, but i feel something he said 3 years ago still pertains today. why to we negotiate with north korea who has nukes and bomb the fuck out of iraq who doesn't have nukes? why don't we negotiate with iraq? it can't be impossible to seat some people down, kick back a few beers and fucking talk. how much more can fighting accomplish? even if a negotiation fails and the opposition still wants to blow shit up, something can still be accomplished: shoot 'em in the fucking face. hell, they're right there. beats the fuck out of hunting them down and blowing up a bunch of rocks.
2 1/2 weeks 'til binghamton/oswego trip, 4 1/2 weeks 'til graduation
