Today's rant: Iran war, World Cup

I just finished reading the 14-point draft memorandum about the ceasefire between Iran and the US.  After reading it, I can say definitively that abso-fucking-lutely nothing was accomplished by bombing Iran in the first place.  The biggest thing that stuck out to me was that the US is giving Iran $300 billion for bombing the shit out of them.  This is fucking pathetic.

Am I the only one who wished that there was a horrible tragedy that that occurred during the UFC event at the White House?

It is crystal clear that nobody won anything in that war.  This is a draw, just like a soccer match.  Speaking of which:  FIFA.  Transition!  Living in Washington state, 6 games are being played locally at Lumen Field, where the Seattle Seahawks play.  Funny enough, it looks like FIFA is not calling any stadiums by their corporate-funded names.  Makes me miss the days of Giants and Shea Stadiums.  Before the World Cup started, I walked past Lumen Field on the way to a baseball game between the Mariners and the Mets at T-Mobile Park.  All of the "Lumen" signs were blocked off by tarps.  Wonder if anything weird will happen when Iran comes to play here next week.  Awkward!

I know I have ragged on soccer players in the past for being a bunch of fucking pussies faking injuries.  However, I would like to acknowledge that they are also athletic powerhouses who have the objective cardiovascular conditioning to run around for an hour and a half and still perform at peak level performance game in and game out.  That makes them the most athletic and cardiovascularly conditioned bunch of fucking pussies on the planet faking injuries.  Seriously, in terms of full contact sports, put their player-to-player contact highlights next to American football players and there is no question who has more testicular fortitude.  For fucks sake, forget full-contact sports.  Compare soccer players to baseball players running into each other or getting beaned by a 95mph fastball.  Soccer players act like they are made of paper the way they crumble at the slightest contact.

Today's rant: Tpdau's rant

I got a new laptop for Christmas.  However, the keys are shifted to the left because there is a number pad on the keyboard.  Occasionally, words that I type will be shifted one key over.  Hence, "Today" becomes "Tpdau."

I finished watching "Suits".  I have identified recurring themes throughout all 9 seasons.

1. "I don't care what I said!"
2. I can count on 1 hand how many actual job interviews there were throughout the show, despite the fact that people were being hired all the time without having an interview.  Most of the time, someone was just handed a job out of nepotism or someone who wanted a job or promotion used blackmail to get it.
3. "I know what I have to do."  (other person stares in amazement, cut to commercial)
4. People off-screen not picking up their phone and the person making the call on-screen complaining into a voicemail about how many times they called.
5. “If we can’t blah blah blah, what are we doing here?”

8 years ago, I wrote a rant about flying to Asia for work.  Back then, I flew to Korea.  This time, I'm going to Singapore with a layover in Korea.  Going there, it's 12 hours to get to Korea and another 6 to get to Singapore.  It's 2 hours less coming back because of the wind direction.  This will be the farthest I've ever travelled for anything.  I don't think I will have a ton of touristy time in Singapore, but I'd like to visit the food markets and find Michelin starred street food that I have heard about.  It's going to be kinda weird when I get there because my flight arrives at 5am but I cannot check into my hotel until 3pm.  I figure it will take me about an hour to get off the plane, get my bag, and go through customs.  That leaves 9 hours before I can check in to my hotel room.  What am I supposed to do while lugging around a backpack and my checked bag for 9 hours in Singapore?
